My husband and I are considering having our son be our only child. Some people in our families are suggesting that choosing to have only one child goes against God’s will. What are your thoughts on this topic? I looked through your site somewhat and cannot find anything on this.
Psalm 127:3-4 tells us;
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.”
This verse doesn’t say how many children a couple should have, only that those we get are a reward from God. I suggest you involve the Lord in your decision through prayer by stating your desire, and asking Him to give you a clear indication if it’s His will that you have more than one child. That way you won’t have to wonder.
