Millennial King David?

Q

I was just wondering where in the Bible it talks about King David ruling during the Millennium. You mentioned it in another study and that was the first I’d ever heard of it. Also why would the Third Temple be located in Shiloh? Isn’t Jerusalem God’s capitol on Earth? Thanks in advance and God Bless.

A

Ezekiel 34:23-24 and Ezekiel 37:24 both mention David as Israel’s Millennial King.

If you plot the redistribution of the land at the beginning of the millennium (Ezekiel 48) you’ll discover that the portion allocated to the Temple is north of Jerusalem where the Tabernacle once stood, in ancient Shiloh.

Zechariah 14:4 says that a great earthquake will split the Mt. of Olives in two forming a great East/West valley on the day of the Lord’s return. This will include the current Temple Mount which is adjacent to the Mt. of Olives on its western side.

Finally, while the Bible speaks of Jerusalem in the Millennium (Joel 3:20, Zechariah 8:4-5), the Holy City, where the Temple will be located, won’t be Jerusalem but Jehovah Shammah, which means “The Lord is here” (Ezek. 48:35)
