Q
Your recent study, “Why Ezekiel 38 will Precede Daniel 9,” is a bit confusing for me. I understand Daniel 9:24, 25, but 26 confuses me. If Jesus rode into Jerusalem after 69 weeks of years, how could he be cut-off after 62 weeks of years? How could He die before He rode on the donkey on Palm Sunday?
A
In Daniel 9:24-27 the angel separated the 70 weeks of Daniel into three parts; 7 weeks, then 62 weeks, and then the final week. When he said the Messiah would be cut off after the 62 weeks he meant after the second period. Since the first period had also transpired it was really after 62 + 7, or 69 weeks.
