Q. How would you explain that the Church is Christ’s body? That He is the head of the body?
A. In the symbolic sense a body is a group of people with a common interest or task. For example Congress is called a legislative body. The head of the body is the leadership. So the Church is the body of Christ and He is our leader.
But we are also His body in the literal sense. When he wants to go somewhere our feet take Him there. When He wants to help someone, He uses our hands. When He want to give someone a hug He uses our arms. When He wants to tell someone He loves them it’s our voice they hear. Get the idea?
