Nuclear war in Battle of Ezekiel 38-39

Q

Thank you so much for your commentaries on end-times events; I have tried to understand all of your commentaries and they fit together seamlessly for which I thank you. One bit of confusion…you say the battle of Ezekiel 38-39 could be a nuclear war, however, it states that it will be obvious to all the nations observing, and Israel, that God won the victory with earthquakes, hail, and brimstone. A nuclear war might not be associated with actions of God so are you saying that both could come into play?

A

The idea that nuclear weapons might be involved comes primarily from Ezekiel 39:14-15 which describes the clean up process. This process is remarkably similar to the way an army might clean up the land after an exchange of battlefield nuclear weapons.

There’s no question from the text that it will be God’s own intervention that will secure the victory for Israel. Therefore, it seems possible that both would be involved.
