Peace For Israel?

Q

I know that the anti-Christ will work out a 7 year covenant with Israel which will be a sign of the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week. I have just read Rev. 6 again (the seal judgments) and I don’t see how Israel can be at peace with all of these terrible judgments taking place. Does it mean that Israel will be at peace (literally from war only) although the opening of the 2nd seal brings war. Are these judgments solely for the Gentiles with Israel being immune? Could it be that everyone is so preoccupied with their own problems that they leave Israel alone?

A

I believe that Israel’s 7 year covenant will begin shortly after the Battle of Ezekiel 38, and the world will see it as a peace treaty with the Moslem nations Israel will have just defeated. Daniel 8:25 says the anti-Christ, who confirms this covenant, will come on the scene as a peace maker, and the fact that he’s riding a white horse in Rev. 6 seems to be consistent with this idea. But it will be a false peace and sort lived. In 1 Thes. 5:3 Paul wrote that just as people are saying “Peace and safety” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains. Rev. 6:3 supports this with the arrival of the 2nd horse, whose rider has the power to take peace from the Earth. After that things will get progressively worse for everyone, including Israel.
