In my in box e-mail I received a request to pray for world leaders so that this world can be changed as God sees his purpose fulfilled. I do pray that these leaders receive the knowledge of God and His Holy Spirit, but I guess my faith is tested as I don’t believe that the world leaders can stand up for what is God’s will in unison. How should Christians pray?
Knowing what the Bible says about the coming judgment, it’s hard to pray for our leaders to change the world because the world is not going to change. But as you say, we can pray that our leaders will be changed personally and give their hearts to the Lord and 1 Tim. 2:1-4 encourages us to do so. That way when the judgment comes they won’t be among the lost. God doesn’t want any to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9) so praying this way is in His will.
