Q
I’ve been searching but haven’t come up with anything yet. Here’s my question, did the prophets of the Old Testament ‘miss it’ like so many of the self proclaimed prophets of today do?
A
In Old Testament times the penalty for giving a prophecy that didn’t come true was death (Deut. 18:20-22). Therefore they didn’t have the legions of people running around claiming to be prophets like we do today.
And judging by the way the prophets of old were treated, I would venture to say it was not a calling to which people aspired.
