Q. First I enjoyed reading your series on Ezekiel 38-39, but one thing I don’t quite understand. How is it the Lord will reveal himself to Israel after Russia is defeated yet it’s not until the middle of Daniel’s 70th week that the Jews see the Anti-Christ for who he is?
A. The anti-Christ first appears as a great peace maker (Dan 8:25)probably on the heels of Ezekiel’s battle. The peace treaty he will enforce begins Daniel’s 70th week and permits the Jews to build their Temple, leading them to believe that he’s on their side. By the middle of the week he’s consolidated his power enough to stand in the Holy Place and declare that he’s God (2 Thes. 2:4). It’s this declaration that kicks off the great tribulation,(Matt 24:15-21) and alerts believing Jews to the fact that he’s an imposter.
