Questions About The Battle Of Ezekiel 38

Q

Does anyone know how long the battle will last? At what point of this battle does the anti-christ step in proclaiming peace the beginning, middle or end? Is this when God will supernaturally protect Israel? Also is this the battle that will provide the weapons that Israel will melt down and use for energy purposes for 7 years? If God supernaturally protects them at this battle shouldn’t their eyes be open to God then?

A

No one knows the battle’s duration, but judging by the fact that it’s called a battle and not a war, it’s duration should be fairly short, perhaps measured in days or weeks rather than months or years. God will step in and give Israel a speedy victory. The anti-Christ will come forward sometime afterward with his 7 year covenant that we know as Daniel’s 70th Week.

Yes, this is the battle whose left over weaponry provides Israel’s energy needs for the duration of the last 7 years. Israel will open their eyes to God at the battle’s end (Ezek.39:22), but will not recognize Jesus as their Messiah until sometime near the end of the 7 year period (Zech 12:10).

Many will at first believe the anti-Christ is the Messiah (Isaiah 28:15), but when he proclaims himself to be God (2 Thes. 2:4) in the middle of the last 7 years, those whose hearts are true to the Lord will recognize he’s not and will heed His warning to flee as the Great Tribulation begins (Matt. 24:15-16).
