Please point me in the direction of a bible commentary that uses the correct rules of interpretation and takes God’s Word literally. Every commentary I can get a hold of picks and chooses what parts of the bible to believe. Thank you very much for your help in this matter.
Bible commentaries represent the opinions of their authors. I’ve found that you have to research the author’s theological view before reading His commentary. I personally won’t read any commentary by an author who doesn’t profess to follow a literal view of Scripture, and even then I’ve been disappointed. It’s pretty much a hit and miss situation until you find an author you really like. That said, the on line commentaries at blueletterbible.org are generally faithful to the literal interpretation.
