Q. I wanted to know if you have been receiving questions that a possible major “event” would take place between September 16-18 2012, Rosh Hashanah. I’ve seen many articles and blogs where people identifying themselves as “watchers” believe these dates will be very significant. I’ve read everything from the Rapture,to the invasion of Syria and even an extraterrestrial event speculated for this time. Any thoughts or feelings about these new dates?
A. First let me say that in the past, God appointed people as watchmen (Ezekiel 2:17) but these days I think a lot of people have appointed themselves.
As for your question, each year all kinds of things are predicted for Rosh Hashanah. This year is no different. I’ve stated in the past that I can’t see why God would schedule a secret event like the Rapture of the Church, a non-Jewish event, on one of the most famous Jewish Feast dates.
I’ve also shown that the phrase “no man knows the day or hour” (often associated with Rosh Hashanah) was only used by the Lord in reference to his 2nd Coming, and never in the context of the rapture.
Only time will tell if God has something in store for Rosh Hashanah this year, but if He does I think it will be primarily intended for Israel.
