I would like your opinion on Rev 3: 15-16. “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. If we are lukewarm Christians, looks like we can loose our salvation. Is this correct?
You’re quoting from the Lord’s letter to the church in Laodicea (Rev. 3:14-22). If you read it carefully you’ll see He’s writing to people who call themselves a church but have no relationship with Him. We know this because He’s knocking on the door, asking to come in. By worldly standards they appear to be wealthy, lacking for nothing. But He sees them as wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. Their problem is not that they are about to lose their salvation. Their problem is that they were never saved in the first place.
Sadly, there is a growing number of churches today who are in the same situation. They have lots of members and are financially well off, but since they don’t teach from the Bible and don’t believe we have to be born again to be saved, they don’t have any relationship with the Lord. They don’t realize it, but they’re spiritually bankrupt and will be left behind at the rapture.
