The Rapture In Matt. 24?

Q

You have said that Jesus doesn’t mention the Rapture in Matthew 24. But in Matt 24:36 He talks about no one knows the day or hour not even the Son. Then in verse 42 He says to keep watch because you do not know what day your Lord will come. Doesn’t that have to do with the Rapture since the Day of the Lord (the second coming) can be calculated by counting 1260 days from when the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the temple?

A

The phrase “that day” in Matt. 24:36 refers back to Matt. 24: 29-30, Which are about the end of the Great Tribulation and the 2nd coming, and verse 37 confirms that Jesus was talking about the 2nd coming. And while the Great Tribulation is 1260 days long and counting those days will bring you to its end, Matt. 24:42- 44, Matt. 24:50, and Matt. 25:13 all say that no one will know the exact day and hour of the Lord’s return to Earth until he actually shows up. So there has to be a difference in time between the end of the Great Tribulation and the Second Coming.
