Q. What do you think will be the strong delusion that God sends to the world as written in 2 Thessalonians 2:11? “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.” That question has been on my mind lately.
A. The lie Paul was speaking of here is the claim made by the anti-Christ that he is God (2 Thes. 2:4). After the rapture, those who have refused to believe in the true Christ, will instead believe in an impostor, the anti-Christ. God will encourage this by blinding them to the fact that the miracles, signs, and wonders they will be seeing are counterfeit. Because of this, they will be deluded into thinking these things are real, and will see them as validating the anti-Christ’s claims. Jesus said, “I have come in my father’s name and you have not accepted me. Another will come in his own name and you will accept him” (John 5:43) He was speaking of the anti-Christ.
