I have a question about the Rapture. I know “the dead in Christ shall rise first”,according to the Scriptures, but I’m wondering if this is a physical resurrection or a spiritual one? In other words, will unsaved people be able to see graves in the cemetary disturbed because Christians who have been dead and buried have gone to be with the Lord? Or do you think it will be more of a quiet, spiritual resurrection?
The only precedent to the Rapture was the Resurrection, and only Matt 27:52 describes the others who rose with Jesus. There it says that the tombs broke open. We know that the Lord’s tomb was visibly broken open. Based on the testimony of those two witnesses it seems likely that the tombs of the dead in Christ will be disturbed as well.
