What Do The Jewish People Do About Their Sins?

Q

As always, thank you for your beautiful site and for teaching us according to the Bible. I was wondering how do the Jews of today cleanse themselves of their sins without offering animal sacrifices?

A

The simple answer is they don’t. Even in Old Testament times the sacrifice of animals didn’t cleanse people from their sins, it just set their sins aside until Jesus came to die for them. Now they have neither the sacrifices nor the death of Jesus, so they’re worse off than before.

In John 14:6 Jesus said, “No one comes to the Father but through me.” That means only His death can cleanse us from our sins and make us pure to dwell in the presence of God. Unless we believe Jesus died for our sins and rose again, we’re eternally lost.
