Q
Regarding the anointing of Jesus. According to Matt. 26:6, Mark 14:3, John 12:3, whose house was Jesus in at this time? A friend thinks it is a contradiction. I don’t, but I don’t know how to explain it. Thank you for your answer.
A
You’re speaking of the anointing of Jesus with expensive perfume. Matthew and Mark both place this event at the home of Simon the Leper in Bethany. He was the father of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. John only states that it took place in Bethany where Lazarus lived, but identified Martha as the one serving while Lazarus sat at the table. John also said that Mary was the woman with the perfume. There is no contradiction.
