This week in India 3-6-21

Come see photos from our week of outreaches in India!

Sewing Classes

This outreach is the answer to several years of prayer, and each photo I see of it brings me so much joy! I can’t wait to see how this skill helps these women. Even as they are just beginning, the Lord is blessing this and them. Each woman here is seeing how quickly they are learning. This helps counter the messages they heard their whole lives that people of their group aren’t as smart as others. It’s hard to find the lies we’ve believed and replace them with truth from the Lord. But it’s so amazing when we do. Every day these women see that they are capable and able to learn new things. We still have a handful of women who haven’t felt brave enough to try the classes. They are afraid it will prove that they aren’t smart enough to learn. Please pray with us for them, for confidence in the Lord, that He can help them learn.

Look at these two little dresses! It’s amazing to see the first things they are learning. And being able to put together clothes for their babies was just last week a dream. Now look!

School Classes

This week, we got new posters for learning English. The kids who were in the local schools before are so excited to learn English along with the kids who were in the boarding school. I love that they are all learning together.

An outing to the park

Our volunteers took a few of the kids to the local park! I think it’s a good sign that things are opening slowly here. Two of our volunteers have gotten both doses of the vaccine and we are over the moon grateful! We’re now praying for it to roll out to the general population so our families can get it. I can’t wait for things to begin returning a bit to normal.

Groceries for each family

Look at all that ginger! I love seeing the picks of them packing up all the bulk food deliveries.

Sunday Service

Prayer for Shilpa

During the service, everyone gathered to pray for Shilpa, she has leprosy, and it affects her eyes, feet and hand. We are praying. for her pain, and for quick response to the medication. It’s a long road of treatment, (one year!) and she’s committed to finish, but we’re asking for her pain and discomfort to come quickly straight from the Lord too!

Sunday School

The kids are memorizing Psalm 47:7 this week:

For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.

Cream Buns

Snacks and sweets are a hit with kids the world over. I love to see their sweet faces enjoying them!

In the village during the week

We filled water tanks, gathered for prayer, and worship. Here you can see we framed a picture of everyone together!

Visiting little Joel

We gathered with them to pray, and fellowship, and bring groceries to those who couldn’t make it Sunday.

And that’s the week! Thank you for praying, for your love and support of those we serve together. It’s incredible. It never gets one bit old or feels normal. It feels special and amazing and the miracle that it is every day. I’m so grateful for you all.
