This week in India 5-22-26

Here’s a glimpse of our outreaches in India.

Happy weekend, GTF fam! ♥

Praise for land progress!

Thank you so much for praying for our group here while we navigate the last hurdles for the land. It’s been such a long road with many roadblocks. We learned that some wealthy people had bribed the local officials to prevent the final authorization for their land from moving forward. This was devastating. There is widespread prejudice against them, and we don’t have the wealth or influence to counter those who oppose them. But we believe the Lord has led them to this, and we can war with prayer and fasting. So we fasted and prayed, and this week there was progress! The tribe went to the government offices again, and this time the official was moved on their behalf. He said one thing preventing the authorization was the lack of water access to the property. And he scheduled a team to visit and survey a site where they can drill a well. This is a great sign, and we’re praying for this survey. Please pray with us!

Graduates!

We have the results back for the four who are graduating, and all four have passed with distinction! This makes them eligible to apply to their desired college courses! And they will all be eligible for full scholarships! Each student only needs to cover the $130 application fee. The two girls, Saki and Usha, both want to study to become social workers, seeing the good our volunteers do and wanting to do similar. ♥ Both the boys, Srinivas and Vijay, want to study mechanical engineering. We are so proud of them!

Around the Village

We celebrated our graduates and spent time together praying and fellowshipping.

Snake!

And then, as it got dark, they caught a snake! It’s that time of year for us to pray for them to be protected from the deadly snakes. If you’re new here, we’ve suffered loss from snake bites and miracles! (a miraculous healing you can see here) We also prayed and fasted so hard for the snakes one year that we were overrun by rats that destroyed the hut coverings!

Village Meeting & Prayer

Praying for Laxmi

We also have a prayer request for Laxmi. She’s in nursing school and still getting regular checkups for her cancer treatment. They’ve delayed the last round so she could finish school. She’s asking us to pray for the Lord to provide so she can stay in the dorms. She has a full scholarship and has kept up with her studies through the intense radiation and doctor’s visits. She leaves each morning at 4 am for 8 am classes each day! She spends so much time traveling and is praying to be able to stay in the dorms. Please pray with us ♥
