This week in India 8-8-25

We have an amazing answered prayer to share this week! Here’s a glimpse of our outreaches in India.
Quick links to the other parts this week:
- Happy Friday, GTF fam! ♥ I’m so excited to share our outreaches in India with you today!
We have three weeks left of summer break here in Mexico with the kids. It’s one of those weird summer days that we call muggy, and the locals call suffocante: suffocating. It’s foggy, but too warm, with no breeze. It’s so foggy that it’s wet outside, and it looks like it could be raining, but it’s just condensation from the fog as it rolls by.
Joel at school
Our volunteer visited Joel again at his new school. This has been such a big thing for him developmentally. He is around kids who are like him, and adults who have been trained specifically to help kids like him. No one is impatient with him or expecting him to be like the other kids. He can go at his own pace, the way he needs to. We are so grateful for this school!
⇒ Note: When we first redesigned the site in 2016, I created a timeline of the ministry. I realized I hadn’t updated it since then, so I’ve been going through all the old posts, making notes to fill it in. And here I found our very first picture of our little Joel (scroll down), and for those of you who weren’t here in 2018, you can see some of what he’s been through here.
With Manjunath’s village
We’ve lovingly referred to this next village as “Manju’s village” for years, since we prayed for him through a hospital stay after a brutal beating. And it stuck all these years later. He is so excited to share that he got a job at Amazon, helping to provide for his mom, who was widowed young, and raised him and his brother by herself. We are so proud of him, and we continue to pray for all the Lord has in store for him!
Tutoring
Yallinga (above) introduced his Grandma (below) to Jesus during our VBS this year! (you can see pics of from part 1 and part 2)
