This week in Mexico 12-21-24
Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Happy Saturday, GTF fam! ♥ How has your week been? We have been busy getting everything together for the kids we serve for Christmas next week! Blankets and groceries and clothes and love! The blankets will be so nice. It’s been particularly cold this year! The weather has said to expect a drier but colder winter this year. So that means more blankets but hopefully fewer power outages!
Groceries to families in need
In December, we bring groceries twice. First, we give the regular staples families need each day: rice, beans, flour, oil, soap, and toilet paper. As we are able, we add milk, tomato paste for the rice, etc. Then later, closer to Christmas, we put together special grocery bags with things needed to make the traditional Christmas meal—tamales! These first pics are our staples bags, and then at the end of the post, you’ll see the pics of us prepping for our Christmas despensas!

Olga’s HouseProject
We were back on project: Keep Olga’s house from flooding this week! You may remember, the flooding had been so bad that Olga’s son cut a track through her tile floor for the river of water to flow in and out of her house. This was better than flooding her whole floor, but we want to keep the rain outside! You can see the track in the pic below. We’ve done a lot of work outside to divert the rain, and now we’re cutting the track outside and burying a drain pipe under the concrete.
The steep incline of the land here has been a struggle with every project we’ve done.
Christmas Meal Groceries Prep
We are preparing the bags for our Christmas meal grocery delivery! In Mexico, they have their traditional Christmas meal on Christmas Eve, so we’ll bring these bags to families in need on Monday.
Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together!
