This week in Mexico 2-21-25

Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Happy Saturday, GTF fam! ♥ I pray your week has gone well! Here in Mexico, we are recovering from all the rain and the damp, moldy indoor conditions it brings.
House fire clean up
We continue to help the families who lost their homes in the fire. This week was all about clearing out debris. Before rebuilding, we needed to see what was too damaged to repair and needed to be removed and what was strong enough to rebuild. Unfortunately, several walls were too damaged to support rebuilding and needed to be demolished. It was discouraging for the families to see even more of their homes be lost, but it’s critical to have firm walls that won’t collapse.
Israel project house
On our project house, we finished constructing the wood forms for the concrete roof, and began building the rebar forms that will provide the structure for the concrete. These will be laid in a grid, and styrofoam sheets will be placed in the spaces. This gives a light but sturdy base for the concrete pour. But first, it’s a lot of work making these rebar columns/tubes.
Escuelita kids group
Our after-school kids group continues to thrive. Several of the moms, whenever they are home come and help too. It’s such a blessing for us and the kids. Our group began as a way to support families when no parents were home. Now, it’s expanded to be a way for moms to serve the community and fellowship together as well. ♥
Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together!
