Our Escuelita – kids’ group
The kids had so much fun decorating eggs. We often see eggs as a non-Christian cultural symbol in the US, but here the moms tell the story of Mary Magdalene witnessing in Rome. The legend is that when she met with Tiberius and told him of the risen Christ, he said a man rising from the dead was as likely as this egg turning red. And then it turned red! I had never heard that, but I have seen old paintings with her holding a red egg, so that’s a fun new thing to learn!
Here, we don’t decorate hard-boiled eggs, we make cascarones! The kids decorate empty eggshells that have been washed and dried. And then after decorating, they’re filled with confetti and closed with a little square of tissue paper and glue. Then we hide them, and after you find one, you smash it over a friend’s head, and confetti covers everyone, there’s no way to escape it. Just like God’s love!

Project Lili
I’m so grateful we were able to help this widowed mom with a special needs son. (You can see the beginning of this project here!) After sealing the outside, we applied anti-mold paint throughout the inside.

God is doing amazing things here, and I’m so grateful for your prayers and support that make it possible. Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together! ♥
