This week in Mexico 5-29-26

Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Happy weekend GTF fam! ♥ I’m so excited to share our week in Mexico with you!

Our kids group -Escuelita

We are in what some call Maycember here! With all that comes at the end of the school year, all the final exams, meetings, and events for the kids.

Baby Melany :hearts:

There’s also been some drama about the summer break. Due to high temperatures and logistics of the World Cup, schools in Mexico will have an extended summer break this year. Ending the school year at the beginning of June instead of July!

None of the games are being held in Baja, so the parents here are upset and have been campaigning to keep it the same. It’s already tough to have kids home for the six weeks they usually get. I think our local school will likely go back to the regular schedule. But while it’s being debated, the kids are stuck not knowing what their summer will look like.

It has been warm here, so we spent a lot of time at the park, taking breaks in the shade to color and enjoy watermelon and drinks!

Groceries for families in need

For the families of our kids group – escuelita

For Rubi and her kids!

For the nearby communities

Please pray for the families in need in this area. There is more need now than ever before. ♥

We always come prepared with extra bags for anyone in need that we didn’t expect. But this time, there were so many new families, and so many little kids, we didn’t have enough treats for them!

We told them we could come back the next day, and went to the store early the next morning. If we had known when we got there that we wouldn’t have enough for all the kids, we would have had them all come back the next day for the treats at the same time, so no one would be left out. But they just kept coming as we handed them out.

Our House Project – Alex and Citlali

Please keep Citlali and their baby in your prayers! She is due next month and was in the hospital one day this week when both she and the baby had elevated heart rates.

The roof beams are going up! Please pray for the safety of our guys, especially over the next few weeks.  I can’t stay and watch when they’re up high. I feel too nervous and don’t want that to affect them! (You can see the beginnings of this new project from our last update, here)

Project: Railing for Maricella

Aidan finished the railing for Maricela! Here she is with her husband, Danny, and their grandchild. Maricella suffers from advanced rheumatoid arthritis, and before, she couldn’t leave the house unless she had someone to support her down the steep stairs and ramp in front of her house. She is even coming to fellowship with the moms and grandmas at our Escuelita now that she is more mobile!

Danny texted Aidan the other day, saying that it has been a blessing for him as well. He injured his foot and has needed help going up and down the stairs too. (You can see more from this project at the end of this update here)

God is doing amazing things here, and I’m so grateful for your prayers and support that make it possible. Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together! ♥
