How Important Is Asking?

Published: March 4, 2024 (Originally published: February 24, 2013)
Q

How important is the asking for salvation, really? I mean, if you know you’re a sinner in need of a savior and believe that Jesus died for your sins, that would be enough, right? Do you still need to ask for salvation to be saved? In John 3:16 it says that whosoever believes in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life, which would indicate that belief is all that’s needed and not necessarily the asking, is this a correct interpretation? What is your view on this?

Earthquake Resurrection

Published: May 25, 2007 (Originally published: May 25, 2007)
Q

I have asked you several questions before and you have always been clear and precise with your answers and related your answers directly with the Word. And I thank you for doing so. So I have another one for you. I have been blogging for quite some time on (a well known author’s) blog and several of the other bloggers have been infatuated with another author who wrote Earthquake Resurrection.

Several people who have read this book have been convinced of this (author’s view) and left the blog and or refuse to discuss the matter any further.

What is your thought on this theory? I have a hard time with this as well as quite a few others as well.

Acts 2 And The Day Of The Lord

Published: May 21, 2015 (Originally published: May 22, 2015)
Q

I’m a little confused as Acts 2:20 reads “the sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.”

But Revelation 6:12 reads, ” I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red.”

Does this mean the day of the Lord only starts after the sixth seal is opened? That doesn’t fit with anything I believe but I can’t seem to get over it. Thanks in advance for your answer. You make the end times understandable but this little thing has thrown me!

Palestine? Or Judea And Samaria?

Published: April 5, 2013 (Originally published: April 4, 2013)
Q

Lately on some of the radio broadcasts of sermons by popular Pastors I have noticed them referring to the land of Judea and Samaria as Palestine. One saying that Jesus was buried in a Palestinian tomb and another saying that God had made a Palestinian covenant with Joshua. I have searched out the word Palestine in several of the popular translations and it appears only once in the KJV Bible and none of the others. Am I missing something?

When Did The Last Days Begin?

Published: December 22, 2016 (Originally published: December 15, 2012)
Q

In Acts 2:17-21 Peter is quoting the prophet Joel about the last days. So, did the last days start during Peters time? Or was it later? How can we know we are not simply excited about big changes in society and calling it the end times? There were big changes going on during Peters time as well and yet he died without seeing the return of Christ. Might we simply be doing the same thing and are also destined to die without seeing Christs return?

What Is A Blood Moon?

Published: December 17, 2011 (Originally published: December 16, 2011)
Q

In my 80 years, I have seen several total eclipses of the moon. As I recall, the moon always assumed a reddish tint due to refraction of the sun’s light through the earth’s atmosphere. I think the more contaminated the atmosphere on the night of the eclipse, the “redder” the moon appears. I seem to remember its being redder some times than others. What is a Blood Moon, and how does it differ from the above? Is it only a matter of degree? Who names it a Blood Moon? What is the prophetic significance of a Blood Moon, if any, during “peace time”?

End Times Revival?

Published: September 12, 2010 (Originally published: September 11, 2010)
Q

A group of us have made it a habit to meet regularly due to our love of Christ and interest in the end times. However, I have some concerns about the majority expectation that we will receive a latter blessing which surpasses the miracles Christ did (how does one surpass bringing someone back to life?!). My interpretation of Joel and other passages leads me to believe this blessing will accompany Christ’s return to earth at the millennium. My friends think we are expecting this blessing any minute for the true church and that we will be responsible for converting thousands to Christ in the end times.

The End Of the Age?

Published: August 9, 2014 (Originally published: August 9, 2014)
Q

I have a question after talking to my pastor this last Sunday. I asked him if he felt we were in the “End of The Age” and he said our church believes that when Jesus came the first time THAT was the beginning of the “End of The Age.” I want to talk to him more about all I am seeing and understand more. So far in my church I kind of get the brush off like they are too busy to answer. Have you heard of this before?

Zechariah 12:10. Crucifixion Or 2nd Coming?

Published: April 13, 2014 (Originally published: April 12, 2014)
Q

Is Zechariah 12:10 a prophecy about Christ being crucified or about His return to Earth at the second coming?

“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”
