Wheat And Tares Vs. Sheep And Goats

Published: June 8, 2009
Q

In Matt 13, Christ gives the parable of the tares and wheat. He then gives the meaning of the parable. When does this occur? I’ve always seen this as the Second Coming, but the Lord’s explanation says the angels gather the wicked and they will cast them into the furnace. If this is the Second Coming, then how does this work with the Sheep and Goats Judgment? How can you gather the wicked (which is what I picture Matt 24:36-41 referencing) and toss them in the furnace, and yet have a sheep and goats judgment? Won’t all the wicked already be in the furnace?

Judging The Righteous And The Unrighteous

Q

How could the Lord indiscriminately send judgment on both the righteous and the wicked in Ezekiel 21? Maybe it shows us that we as well will go through the Great Tribulation?

God’s Will And Our Elections

Published: June 4, 2009
Q

I join the thousands of others in thanking you for clarifying Biblical issues. My question concerns confusion about the difference between the Lord’s ‘permissive’ will and His ‘directive’ will. For example, I think that the Lord directed the result of the recent U.S. presidential election to accelerate the demise of the U.S.

Pentecost And The Rapture Follow Up

Published: June 1, 2009
Q

This is a quote of yours from a question about the rapture still being 300 years away and I have a question regarding it.

“Finally, we should note that in this passage the concluding event is the restoration of the Kingdom for Israel. It has nothing to do with the Rapture of the Church which can happen at any moment. Using his calculations and beginning at the Resurrection, Hosea’s prophecy of Israel’s restoration will be fulfilled around 2032, within the window of time I’ve previously established of 2018-2037.”

Does this mean that the rapture wouldn’t happen until 7 years before 2032? Approximately 2025? That seems like a LONG ways off!!

And another question: You have said you don’t think the rapture would occur on a Jewish Holiday, which Pentecost is, but I don’t understand that. If He didn’t come on a Jewish Holiday, how would they know for sure if He was truly their Messiah? And the church was born on Pentecost, which is a Jewish Holiday, why wouldn’t it be raptured on a Jewish Holiday?

Thanks for all your wisdom!! I can’t wait to meet you when we get to Heaven!!

Old Testament Saints In The Millennium

Published: June 1, 2009
Q

I was just reading your recent post titled “Will David Be King Again?”. In it, you stated that you believe that a descendant of David’s (not David himself) will rule over Israel during the Millennium (under the authority of Jesus, the King) because he has to offer a sin offering for himself on Passover and on Tabernacles. This got me to thinking; “What will be the role of the OT Saints during the Millennium?”.

I guess I’m a little unclear on what exactly the resurrected OT Saints will be doing, as opposed to the Church during that time. Both will have their resurrection bodies. I assume that this means that the OT Saints will also have access to the New Jerusalem…? And, since Kingdom law will be in effect at that time, how does that pertain to the resurrected OT Saints?

Damascus’ Date With Destruction

Published: May 29, 2009
Q

Is there a specific Agricultural season mentioned as to the timing of the Destruction of Damascus? “It shall be as when the harvester gathers the grain.” Is that the Bible’s way of making a General statement about Harvesting or can we take that literally to be when the wheat is actually harvested in Israel?

Anti-Christ’s Origin?

Published: May 28, 2009
Q

Rev. 2:13 says

I know where you live–where Satan has his throne. Yet you remain true to my name. You did not renounce your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death in your city–where Satan lives.

Could this verse possibly give us a clue as to where the anti-christ comes from, “where satan’s throne is” and “where satan lives” ?

Rapture On Pentecost?

Published: May 25, 2009
Q

I am wondering … what else has to happen before the Lord returns? I waffled back and forth between pre and mid for many years and now that I feel like I have a solid belief in pre-trib, I am wondering what prophecies still need to be fulfilled, if any. My daughter keeps mentioning something about a red heifer, but I am not sure where that comes into play.

I have read much about Pentecost on your site and am wondering if it is possible for His return on this Pentecost, May 31, or does that not give enough time if something still needs to be fulfilled. I find myself completely absorbed in thinking and longing for His return, and almost feel like I wont be able to bear it on June 1st. How does one balance longing for him and keeping on in this lifetime.

I feel like I am holding my breath waiting for the moment when with one blink I close my eyes here, and open them in heaven. Will it happen that fast?? Sorry, I am just truly longing to go home.

Captives Or Participants

Published: May 24, 2009
Q

Are the wicked people of this world “captives” of the devil and sin (unfortunate victims of the devil) that only need to be set free ….. or sons of the devil who actively and willingly “want to carry out [their] father’s desire” (willing participants rather than victims) who “belong to their father the devil” and therefore as sons/daughters have a place in his (devil’s) family?

Location Of The Ark Of The Covenant

Published: May 24, 2009
Q

On TV recently, (a well known author) indicated that the Ark has been moved to Israel from Ethiopia and will be present in the Third Temple.

You and I both believe the Ark is lost and will never be recovered because its presence is never mentioned again. Would you comment, please.
