A Different 490 Years

Published: September 23, 2010 (Originally published: September 22, 2010)
Q

The way I understand it thus far is for 490 years the Jews did not give their land a Sabbath year of rest so that was 70 years they owed God for the land Sabbaths. They went into exile to Babylon and that paid that debt. Daniel 9 speaks of six things they must square away for the 490 years that are determined for them. 69 weeks of years were fulfilled and the 70th week of years is coming up after the Church Age, what we nick name the 7 Year Tribulation Period. What is it that makes the 490 years still on the clock for them since they served the 70 years for the land Sabbaths in exile already?

Another Question About Babylon

Published: September 23, 2010 (Originally published: September 22, 2010)
Q

Like so many, your web site continues to inform and bless me and my family. We are very excited about our Lord’s coming for his church. As I study the world’s events, one thing keeps bothering me. Is Babylon going to be rebuilt to the extent it appears to be in the Bible to accommodate the Lord’s return in the 2018 time frame? I am worried a city of that magnitude would take longer to develop. Would love your input on this subject. Thank you and God bless!!

Am I Committing Fornication?

Published: September 16, 2014 (Originally published: September 22, 2010)
Q

Thank you for your wonderful site – what a blessing! The man I am dating is still legally married. His wife moved out some time ago, but she has cancer and cannot get health insurance on her own. They have agreed to remain married on paper for 2 more years, during which time she will be covered by his policy. We are contemplating marriage later down the road, and have agreed to be celibate until we are legally married. While we are not having sex, I wonder – am I committing fornication by having ANY physical contact with him?

Are We To Work For A United World?

Published: September 15, 2010 (Originally published: September 14, 2010)
Q

I’ve only just now heard of the Bilderbergers and their theorized attempts to enact a world government. Should I view this group and other groups that have the same intent as sinister groups automatically? Are we as believers urged by Scripture to not aide or engage attempts to unite the world?

Still More Follow Up On “Married Or Not”

Published: September 15, 2010 (Originally published: September 14, 2010)
Q

Thank you for your website, I check my emails every day for Grace Thru Faith. I have a question about the Q&A the other day “Married or Not? ” Did you mean that all marriages in the world that don’t involve a believer are not approved by God? Since God began marriage in Genesis for many good reasons, like being the foundation of society, and the best way to have and raise children, wouldn’t He be glad people are making use of His good idea even if they aren’t saved?

Our country was blessed when living by God’s principles even though most of the people weren’t saved. Doesn’t 1 Cor. 7:14 mean that the unsaved one in the marriage, and the children are set apart for some blessings from the Lord because there is a saved person in the family praying for them and being a testimony to them?

Is Studying Prophecy Unhealthy?

Published: September 15, 2010 (Originally published: September 14, 2010)
Q

Our pastor is doing a Q&A on Sunday nights, answering questions that have been anonymously submitted by church members. Most of the questions pertain to end times. Being an a-millennialist, he started the Q&A tonight by saying that some people study end times too much, and that it’s very unhealthy to do so. I know that many seminaries have moved toward an allegorical approach to scripture, but why do some pastors seem so irritated with people that hold to a pre-trib view? I mean how can studying prophecy be unhealthy?

What’s Coming For Israel?

Published: September 17, 2010 (Originally published: September 16, 2010)
Q

May God bless you for providing this incredible web site. My question is in regards to Israel and Iran’s upcoming conflict that everyone is speculating on. If and when Israel strikes Iran, there are going to be numerous friends asking me where this fits into bible prophecy and what will happen next. I see the attack as inevitable unless God shuffles the deck of cards and changes everything and propels things into a new direction. The only thing I can think of is this will put a hook into Russia’s jaw and bring about Ezekiel 38 and 39. Do you have any other thoughts on this? I want to prepare myself with possible answers.

The Locusts And The Seal Of God

Published: September 18, 2010 (Originally published: September 17, 2010)
Q

Concerning the locusts in Revelation 9:4: “They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads.”(NIV) Does this instruction to the locusts only apply to the 144,000 from the twelve tribes of Israel who receive the mark on their foreheads in Chapter 7? And does God still seal the new believers after the Rapture?

Q

Hello I love your site and i keep it bookmarked on my ipod to check nearly everyday. Here is what I can’t figure out. I know a lot of people think there may be a gap of time between the rapture and the start of the 70th week. My question is under which dispensation would this period of time be under?
