They Will Not Taste Death

Published: September 29, 2021 (Originally published: September 3, 2013)
Q

I am reading the book of Mark and have a question about chapter 9. And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power. Who was Jesus talking about not tasting death?

Saved By Our Beliefs?

Published: January 2, 2024 (Originally published: September 7, 2006)
Q

In your article on Post-Church Salvation you wrote: “We’re saved by what we believe, not by how we behave.”

I have a problem with that. (Cults) believe what they believe, and they certainly are not right. (Maybe I am getting hung up on the definition of What, and How. Am I?) We have to believe what the Bible teaches…there is ONLY ONE WAY. What do you think?

Please, Please, Help!

Published: January 2, 2024 (Originally published: September 7, 2006)
Q

We have the most godly daughter any one has ever met. Pastors, youth group leaders, other parents all use her as the example of Christian womanhood.

She has finally identified the person she wishes to spend the rest of her life with. He is, of course, saved, and by all outward appearances “nice” in every way.

All along we have all had a check in our spirit. When she met him, he was depressed, suicidal, and in is own words: “…wanting to go to the mission field to die in obscurity.” Having our daughter in his life has breathed new life into him and God has “healed him” of all the other garbage.

My husband was called by “him” and informed they are getting married. Our daughter has moved (from the town where she is currently enrolled in a master’s program) and not given us her address or phone. She has turned her back on us because we did not bow to their proclamation.

What is your feeling on all of this? Are we wrong not to go along even though we feel it would be handing our daughter over to a person we do not trust? When is it ever okay for a daughter to shun her father’s authority? I see no magical age. I believe everyone is under a God-specified authority. Whose is she under presently? Is there no consequence? Will God honor her tearing away?

Please, please help.

In The Image Of God

Q

When does GOD create the non-physical part of a human? Does He do it when the sperm and the egg unite? Did it exist before the physical began? Is the physical or non-physical, or both, created in GOD’s image?

Have I Lost It All?

Published: January 4, 2024 (Originally published: October 31, 2014)
Q

I spent years in an on again off again relationship with a man who promised to become a believer and marry me but never did. I finally had to move to another state to be free of him. I’m now settled into a great church family, but I feel like I’m no longer as close to God as I used to be. I wonder if I’ve blown my chance to find a God fearing man, and am afraid I may have even lost my place in heaven. Please help me understand and pray for me as well.

Questions About Security

Q

1. Does it say anywhere in the Word that God will release me from my own foolishness as I have paid a very high price for it over and over again. 2. Is it true that He would not have healed me if He had not also forgiven me? 3. Lastly, if someone apostatized – not just backslid, are they still covered under grace?

Why Isn’t Matt. 24:36-42 About The Rapture?

Published: January 8, 2024 (Originally published: September 4, 2013)
Q

I thank the Lord for your ministry, keep up the good work in Him. I have always read the Olivet Discourse understanding it according to the three questions asked by the disciples to Jesus, taking it not chronologically but like as question followed by its answer. I believe all 3 questions and relative answers focus on Israel. The Church is not “really” in view there. However, when we come to Mathew 24:36-42, I believe we are talking about the rapture of the Church as a sign to Israel and if not to Israel as a whole, to the 144,000 Jews involved in evangelizing people during the Tribulation. Where am I going wrong?

When Does The 70th Week Begin?

Published: January 8, 2024 (Originally published: September 6, 2013)
Q

Does the “signing” of the covenant kick start the 70th week of Daniel or is it the day it goes into effect? Lets say, the Anti-Christ signs the treaty on October 13, but it doesn’t go into effect until December 31, which day actually starts the 70th week? Is it the day it is signed or the day it goes into effect?

Getting Through To My Daughters

Published: January 8, 2024 (Originally published: September 9, 2013)
Q

I have two beautiful daughters who live with their mother, she does not go to church nor is there ever any talk about the Lord at their house. As I try to input a Biblical worldview and teach the girls the Word of God, their mother condemns me to the girls, basically saying that I am a ” Jesus Freak” etc.. She has pitted the girls against me and tries to make me look like the bad man. Do you have any scripture that I can use to get through to the girls that may help them to see the truth?

The Number Ten

Published: January 9, 2024 (Originally published: September 20, 2010)
Q

I saw an article about the date 10-10 having a biblical reference for the number 10. I know the number is supposed to stand for world completion, is there anything to this? The number 4 being for the world and the number 6 being for man, is 10-10-10 just a coincidence? Thank you for all of your insight and dedication, without you I would be somewhere out in left field.
