Published: September 17, 2006
Q

I have a 9 year old nephew that was told the other day by a classmate that Halloween is Satan’s holiday. With this “holiday” coming up I would appreciate any information concerning how to respond to questions such as these. I would also like to thank you guys for your website. It is truly incredible.

Can Former Lovers Be Just Friends Again?

Q

If two Christians are friends and commit adultery with each other and then repent of their sin of adultery can they still remain friends? Can they be restored to a chaste, pure relationship with each other as brother and sister in Christ?

A Likely Scenario

Q

Ive been studying your entire site on everything you’ve written concerning Ezek 38 and 39, also Isaiah 17.

The last article concerning the Ezek 38 invasion you said a few things had to be in place before it could come about, like the Northern African nations and Turkey’s stand, also that Israel had to be dwelling safely (or carelessly, depending on the translation).

My question is, with regards to the current happenings with Israel, Syria, Lebanon, what would you say were the chances that we might see Isaiah 17 fulfilled first and very soon.. which in turn might put the last conditions in place to kick off Ezek 38?

After a possible nuclear situation between Israel and Damascus, might the UN and/or EU step in to make a peace-like situation? Not to mention if Israel takes Damascus out, those other Moslem nations Ezek named as well as Turkey would be more favorable to lining up against Israel? And if we the Church were Raptured around the time of this Isaiah 17 deal, that would effectively neutralize he US and pave the road for Russia and Iran to ‘think the evil thought’ as God said. Your thoughts?

Where’s The Wedding?

Published: September 12, 2006
Q

Thank you for your article, “The Nature of Post-Church Salvation”. Over the last several years I have also become convinced that the parable of the ten virgins (indeed all the parables in that section of scripture) pertain to the tribulation period, not the church age. The emphasis on works in the parables doesn’t fit well with the church; and I’ve always been offended at the intimation that Christ would do anything that would even suggest approval of polygamy.

Christ, of course is returning with one Bride, the Church, to a wedding party at which the “friends of the bridegroom” and the “virgins,” (akin to bridesmaids and friends of the bride) are invited guests. But this brings up a question I’ve been struggling with. Perhaps you have insight on it. If the guests are invited to the “wedding” then does this mean the wedding feast takes place on earth after Christ’s return with His bride or does Rev 19:9 indicate that it is to take place in Heaven?

Kingdom Of The Anti Christ

Published: September 12, 2006
Q

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what the emergent kingdom will be that the Antichrist will arise out of. In Rev 17 we see the woman sitting on the “beast” with 7 heads and 10 horns. And the angel tells John that “the seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, one is, and the other is not yet come”. And in Rev 13 we see the same beast coming out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns. And one of the heads was wounded as to death. But it is healed and that healing causes the whole world to wonder after the beast.

The thing is, so many people think that this means the AC will be assassinated or wounded in some way physically. But, if the seven heads are kings/and or kingdoms, and one of those kingdoms is wounded, couldn’t this be referring to the Islamic power that will be 5/6 annihilated after Ezekiel’s battle? And this man of sin arises from that devastation to bring about peace? Being Islamic, he could claim to be of the seven and wounded, but something could distinguish him from Islam enough that the Jews will accept him and he will be the “eighth” king. We know ,according to Isa 10 that the AC will be Assyrian…this would fit in that scenario.

Why Bad Things Happen To Good People

Published: September 11, 2006
Q

Recently in the news, we all heard of Steve Irwin’s (The Crocodile Hunter) death. This event has really been bothering me for some reason. What bothers me the most is why did he die? This man that has probably done nothing but good in this world. Now his wife is a widow, and his 2 children are fatherless. I just don’t understand. You see all these crazy, godless people running around this world, and nothing bad seems to happen to them (not that I wish it did). Why do bad things happen to people that do good things in their life?

My family and I are going through a lot ourselves. My husband has battled cancer, which disfigured his face. And our daughter is fighting for her life as well, from brain cancer. She is not even 3 years old yet, and we just don’t understand why these things have happened to us.

To get to the point, I think my issue is that I don’t know what happens after death, and that is what I am afraid of, the not knowing part. How do we know what to expect? What is the point of horrible things being allowed to happen to decent people? Is there any passage from the bible that can answer these type of questions?

More On Post Church Salvation

Published: September 11, 2006
Q

In your recent article on “The Nature of Post-Church Salvation” you suggested that the parable of 10 virgins speaks directly to tribulation saints. By implication you also suggested that tribulation saints could “lose” their salvation by not remaining alert and staying faithful until Christ comes.

I have a very hard time with this because you are indirectly suggesting that they have to be found without sin at the time of the Second Coming. We are by human nature, fallen sinful creatures, the sin nature is within each and every one of us. It seems to me that you are taking grace and Jesus’ sacrifice for all of our sins whether we are saved before or after the rapture out of the equation.

It also seems to me that you’re saying that the continued guarantee of eternal life (following the acceptance of Christ as their Lord & Savior) for the tribulation saint depends solely upon individual behavior. By suggesting this, you are leaving an open door for pride to abound in the heart of the tribulation saint, based on whether he/she is found ready of his/her own accord at the time of the Second Coming. Where is the doctrine of saved by grace not by works lest anyone should boast? It will be difficult enough to go through the tribulation for believers and non-believers alike. I can’t help but think that you are taking God’s grace and mercy out of the equation when it comes to tribulation saints.

Pentecostal Denominations

Can you please explain to me the difference between the Church of God and the Assembly of God Church? Also I understand that the doctrine of the Pentecostals do not adhere to the belief that once saved always saved.

Thank You in advance for any information you can provide.

Rapture Before Ezekiel’s Battle?

Does the Bible say if the Rapture will happen before the war prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39?

Contacting The Dead

Published: September 7, 2006
Q

My wife watches (a well known psychic) on a daytime talk show. I don’t know if you are familiar with her but she is supposed to talk or in some manner make contact with the dead.

I was raised to believe this is wrong but the only scripture I know of that deals with this is the one about Sodom and Gomorrah. She has questions about this verse due to the wording and possible difference in meanings. Can you give me other verses in the Bible that would maybe be clearer on this subject or clarify the wording?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us.
