Q. I was reading an article by someone that said the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse would appear simultaneously, and not one after the other. That’s not how I read the sixth chapter of Revelation. Would you share your thoughts on this please?
A. Like you, I think they’re sequential. Were they simultaneous, I believe John’s opening statement in Rev. 6 would have been something like “Then I saw four horseman …” before describing them one after the other. But each one appears individually as the Lord opens a seal in its order and the judgments they bring forth are sequential in nature. First a conqueror bent on conquest, followed by war, then famine, then death. It’s a proven progression.
