Q
I give what I can to American charities, but have been leery of giving to international charities due to the fact that many are helping sinners. What is your take on this? These are not religious charities that I speak of.
A
Personally I don’t advocate giving to secular charities in any country. There are plenty of reputable Christian charities around, both national and international.
As for helping sinners, everyone fits that category since we’re all sinners. Paul said it’s the Lord’s kindness that leads to repentance (Romans 2:4).
His kindness is often expressed through charitable giving, but secular charities don’t convey His kindness to their recipients, no matter how well intentioned they are in other respects.
