God’s New Laws

Q

Could you give me all the references to God’s Laws that we are required to follow now? I know about the 10 commandments, loving God and loving others, but I’d like a complete list of them if possible.

A

A famous theologian once said, “Christianity is not a set of laws to be obeyed, or a creed to be accepted. It’s not a religion to be followed, or a social order to be lived. It’s a love story written in blood on a cross of wood.”

Jesus didn’t come to Earth to start a religion based on God’s laws for all of us. He came to Earth to establish a personal relationship based on God’s love for each of us.

The New Testament contains lots of instructions on how believers can respond to God’s love with words and actions. Following these instructions pleases Him, but only if we do so as an expression of our gratitude for the free gift of His love.

“But now a righteousness from God, apart from the law, has been made known, through which the Law and Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe” (Romans 3:21-22).
