I have a question regarding your response to Is Russia In Ezekiel 38? If current events in the Middle East are not leading up to Ezekiel 38, could they be the preparations for the battles of Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17?

I believe any prophetic fulfillment that results from the current situation in Syria and the Middle East will more likely be a move toward the fulfillment of Isaiah 17, rather than Ezekiel 38. Since Syria is not mentioned in Ezekiel 38 many scholars assume Isaiah 17 will precede that battle. I think Syria’s current unrest will determine whether the Sunni or the Shiite Muslims will gain control of the country, not whether it ceases to exist.
