I understand we are to pray for the peace of Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May they prosper who love you.” (Psalms 122:6) Is it America’s duty to protect her? What else are we to do for Israel?

It is not anyone’s duty to protect Israel except the Lord’s. He does promise to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel (Gen. 12:2-3). America’s traditional policy of protecting Israel is primarily due to the influence of Jewish and Christian voters, and as our influence declines so has America’s support for Israel.
