Q. Concerning the so-called blood moon eclipses that are coming in 2014-2015. Could it be that these eclipses mark(signify) the start of the second half of the tribulation? Are they the Blood Moons spoken of in Joel 2:31 and Rev. 6:12 ?
A. Joel 2:31 says, The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. Peter quoted this verse in Acts 2:20. Rev. 6:12 says, I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red. These are the only places where the moon is said to have turned the color of blood. Joel says this will happen before the Day of the Lord comes. This phrase is almost always used of the Great Tribulation.
The people on Earth at the time will see the 6th Seal of Rev. 6 as a sign that the time of God’s Wrath has already begun (Rev. 6:16-17). Since the Great Tribulation begins on Earth in Rev. 12-13 and Joel said the moon would turn the color of blood before that time, this confirms that the Seal judgments precede the Great Tribulation in the Chronology of Revelation and that the so-called Wrath of God describes most if not all of the 70th Week of Daniel.
