Can you please explain the scripture “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house” from Acts 16:31?
The jailer had witnessed the miraculous release from prison God had arranged for Paul and Silas. He asked Paul what it would take to be saved, and Paul answered, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house” (Acts 16:31) Then Paul and Silas preached the gospel to everyone in his household and they were all saved (Acts 16:32-33).
This is not a case where one person’s belief saved others because that is not permitted. It’s a case where the combination of the miraculous prison break, sharing the gospel, and the work of the Holy Spirit caused all of them to give their hearts to the Lord, just as Paul had said they would.
