You probably have already answered this question, but I’ll ask it again. Revelation 1:7, “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” In your understanding, is this passage of scripture referring to 1 Thes. 4:13, or 2 Thes. 1:7?
From the two choices you’ve provided I would pick 2 Thes. 1:7. It speaks about the 2nd coming where every eye shall behold Him, whereas 1 Thes. 4:13 is a lead-in to the rapture, where only believers will see Him.
But I think the clearest parallel passage is in Matt. 24:30 which says, “At that time the sign of the Son Of Man will appear in the sky and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.”
