Taking The Chip

Q

Now that national health care has been forced upon us in the US, I see the verichip following close behind, as an excuse to keep all of our medical information supposedly accessible through it. I see this as the mark of the beast, and will refuse it even if it costs me my life. What are your views on the “chip”?

A

In the middle of Daniel’s 70th Week, just after the beginning of the Great Tribulation, people will be forced to take some sort of mark as evidence of their “pledge of allegiance” to the anti-Christ. This mark will be necessary to purchase or sell goods and services (Rev. 13:16). An angel will be dispatched to warn those on Earth during the Great Tribulation against taking the mark on pain of eternal torment (Rev. 14:9-11).

I don’t believe the Church will ever be faced with this choice. First, we’ll be gone before it happens (1 Thes. 1:10), and second we’ve already been marked with the promised Holy Spirit as a guarantee we’ll never suffer in Hell (Ephes. 1:13-14). In addition, the anti-Christ is not officially in power and no angel has come to warn us against receiving the mark of the beast.

You may have good personal reasons for refusing to have a chip implanted if it becomes necessary, but there’s no Biblical justification for your position.
