Thoughts On Col. 1:19

Q

I am hoping for some insight from you on Colossians 1:19. Do you believe this refers to the heavenly battle (as I do) with the angels and is this reconciliation and peace a forgiveness of some angels or the judgment of them or am I completely off the mark altogether?

A

The whole sentence reads, “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” (Col. 1:19-20)

When Satan rebelled, a second will was introduced into the Universe. It brought disharmony and confusion. This second will spread to mankind when Satan corrupted Adam and Eve, and through them the entire Creation was infected (Romans 8:18-22). With the Lord’s death, a way was provided to bring the entire creation back into conformity with God’s will, restoring its harmony in both the Physical and Spiritual realms. Now it’s just a matter of time before all is accomplished.
