Q. Re: Paul Was Pre Trib. By pre-trib do you mean at the start of the 7 years or before the last 3 1/2 years (Great Tribulation) ? Also what do you think Rev 18:4 means? My daughter’s fiance thinks that it means he can’t come to America because of it, and my daughter is agreeing. I believe it’s most likely America, but it’s some years off, probably near mid-trib. And we’re free to come and go from America until the Holy Spirit would tell us to leave, but more than likely we won’t have to worry about it due to the rapture. What’s your thought and scripture, if possible.
A. The pre-Trib rapture is incorrectly named. It should be called the pre 70th Week rapture because people who hold the pre-trib view believe the rapture will take place before all the end times judgments of the last 7 years begin.
Rev. 18:4 says:
Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues;
In order to use Rev. 18:4 to justify not coming to America you have to believe when John spoke of Babylon he was really speaking of America. There’s no Biblical support for that view. Also, Revelation 18 takes place at the very end of the Great Tribulation after the completion of the seven bowl judgments (Rev. 16:17).
