Q. In light of the recent discoveries of oil and gas reserves in Israel’s territorial waters, it struck me as odd that Israelis would be burning weapons left from the Gog/Magog Battle. This can only mean one thing: the Israeli survivors will be scavenging.
A. If the battle happens soon it’s possible that Israel’s oil and gas discoveries will not have come on line yet, or if they have they could be a primary target for the enemy force. Or it could just be a very inexpensive source of fuel. In any event, Ezekiel 39:9-10 says people in the towns of Israel will be burning enemy weapons for seven years. What it doesn’t say is why this will be the case.
