First I just want to thank you and say how much your site has meant to me, your answers are always well thought out and clear up a lot of difficult scriptures. Revelation 22:2 shows the river flowing down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. What is the meaning of the leaves of the tree of life for the healing of the nations? Aren’t we all in our new bodies and all the curses are gone? Aren’t we in the new heaven new earth and new Jerusalem? Thanks again for any insight you can provide.
Rev. 22:1-2 is taken from Ezekiel 47:1-12 which is about the Millennium in Israel. While the curse will be gone, people on Earth in their natural bodies will still suffer from disease and death because of their sin nature. The Church will be in the New Jerusalem with new resurrection bodies and won’t be subject to these things. But remember, at 1400 miles square and 1400 miles tall the New Jerusalem will be about 2/3rds the size of the Moon and is far too big to be located on Earth. Instead it will orbit nearby, providing light to the Earth.
