This week in India 7-11-25

We have an amazing answered prayer to share this week!  Here’s a glimpse of our outreaches in India.

Answered prayer!

Anyone who has been here for any amount of time has heard my prayer request for land for our prayer house village families. Even before it was urgent, we had felt a call to pray for land in both India and Mexico. Our volunteers and I have prayed for years for this. And then it became dangerous for the prayer house village to stay. First, because of threats from neighbors. Later, because of threats from developers and flooding river water.

I did a quick search, and the earliest post I found here was from September 2021, when a real estate developer informed them that they had to leave. He was going to build a road to his land right where their huts were located. Every time the area flooded, the government would come and tell them they had to move. It was too dangerous to stay. But to where? How? Land is ridiculously expensive. We had no way out of this on our own, and we knew the answer had to come from the Lord. And so we prayed. And kept praying. Even when it seemed hopeless and we were discouraged, we continued to seek the Lord and His perfect provision for them.

And we are so close!!

After the last flooding, the tribe went to the government offices, again, to ask for help. This time, a man there was moved with compassion for their terrible situation and said he would see what he could do. Each time before, they were turned away immediately. He did find some options of places they could go, but each time they visited, the surrounding people rejected them. Prejudice is an insidious thing. It’s the work of the enemy to cause us to see a fellow human, a child of God, as less than human, simply because of where and to whom they were born. But our God has erased all the dividing lines we create and lifts up the lowly. He champions the poor, the widows and fatherless.

Each time they went to mark out the borders of a plot for this village, the surrounding people came out and fought them. For weeks this man has worked hard to find a safe place for the families of our prayer house village. Finally, he chose one other spot, and this time brought the police to mark the area. They only need one more step until they have permission to go there.

Please continue to pray for this to be completed. We are one step away. And even then, we will have much more to pray for them. They’ll need whatever shelters the government will approve. (One condition is no huts, it cannot look like a “slum”) We want really good relationships with the neighbors. We want them to be blessed because the tribe is near them. But right now we are just celebrating and praising God for this amazing blessing. My heart is overflowing with immense gratitude. They have land!! They’ll be safe next rainy season!! I’m so so grateful.

Little Rebecca

Continuing with praises, she is healing up so well!! And she’s feeling so much better too. She’s been in a lot of pain for all of this and she’s getting so close to not needing to get the bandages changed every couple of days.

Laxmi

Laxmi got her wisdom tooth out and everything went really well. Everything is harder because of the chemo medicine. And so, they were extra cautious, but everything went really well. We continue to pray for her treatment and for all the cancerous cells to be gone. We pray for the nausea and mouth sores to be gone and for her to have the strength both physically and mentally to get through all this.

With Manjunath’s Village

Yallinga, the little boy on the right, introduced his Grandma to Jesus during our VBS this year! He kept telling her of the lessons on what Jesus has done, in love for us, and how we can now be vessels for Him. On the last day, she came and said she wanted to give her life to Jesus as well.

Every day, he reads a story to his grandma from his children’s Bible. ♥
