This week in India 7-25-20

Here’s a peek into our week with the villages of our Children’s Church!

Here are quick links to the other parts this week:

Food & Masks

Four months! With no school and no work. It’s been tough, but we’re making it work. God is providing, and no one is sick!

We can’t meet for church, but we can meet in groups that already live communally. So village by village, we meet for devotions, Bible study, singing worship songs, and fellowship together.

Radha’s newborn baby Rebecca is doing well!

These two little girls asked our volunteer to pray for them. They want to grow up and serve Jesus like he does. It’s a good reminder that our little ones are watching us. They see how we treat others, and notice when our words don’t match our actions. The Lord has given us amazing helpers who serve Him with their whole hearts, and the kids can see it. The kids see how they serve and love, and they want to do the same. It’s so beautiful. I want my life to do the same.

I posted separately on little Esther, so it’s easy to keep track of her updates. But I had to include a couple of pics of her here as well.

Manju also asked our volunteer to pray for him that He may serve the Lord too. From different villages, in the same week, the Lord prompted three of our kids to ask for this prayer. The Lord is moving and I can’t wait to see how these kids grow and mature in Jesus.

We have nightly prayer meetings hut by hut. Nothing is more important in this season (all seasons!) than consistent prayer.

Special prayers for Radha, her husband, their new little one, Rebecca.

New Masks

Our volunteer sewed new masks for everyone! Since none of our families here have running water, we wanted them to have several masks so they can always have one clean.

Weekday classes

We were able to hold a few classes for the kids! They miss school. So our volunteers picked a few subjects and held classes for them this week.

Learning English! This is cool because the kids who go to the local schools don’t get the opportunity to take English classes. Before the pandemic, we were planning on holding English classes for them during summer break. Our kids who attend the boarding school are learning English, so they are helping the others!

Remember, our kids only started school for the first time two years ago! They are doing so well and catching up quickly.
