This week in Mexico 3-6-21
Our week of groceries and school classes, and a God so wonderful, our kids asked for Bible class instead of playtime.

Bringing groceries and baby stuff to the Haitian refugees
Look at these little ones! The tiny diapers we buy. So precious. The first generation born in Mexico. This is a big deal. It’s not an easy life at all, but growing a family has a way of growing roots where you are. As if they are saying they know they have a home where they are finally accepted. No one is trying to run them off. The neighbors aren’t looking at them sideways as immigrants and less-than. They’ve integrated pretty well. The adults are still struggling with the language, but the kids will grow up fluent as children from here.
Our school classes
It’s something special when the kids ask if they can read their Bible stories after class! Even when it isn’t Bible class, they’ve still been asking for it. These are the Jesus Storybook Bibles we got for them. Every story tells of Jesus. It’s magnificent. And so, even though we’ve been through it and through it, they keep asking for more. Jesus is that good! You can never get enough of His goodness.
And for these kids, they want the reminder of His goodness. This year has been hard on them and their families. A fourteen-year-old boy in another neighborhood died by suicide this week and everyone is pretty tender. It’s been a wake-up call for all the adults because no one had any idea this boy was struggling. Being isolated is taking a toll. We are praying for a quicker rollout of the vaccines here so our families can begin getting back together again.
