A glimpse of our week in Mexico!

We’ve been scrambling this week after the schools announced the start of in-person classes would be Monday!! We had less than a week to get everything together. We won’t be fully ready, but we’ll hopefully be ready enough for the first few days and get the rest of the supplies in quickly. Thankfully they aren’t requiring uniforms right away, as they know not one kid in our neighborhood would be able to come up with one yet. They’ll likely ease the kids into it too, since it’s been so long since they’ve been to the school.
Please pray with us for each kid and teacher. This is not an easy season for any of them! For their peace and protection in returning, for their ability to learn well in this stressful time.
Dispensas – Food distribution
We got another delivery of groceries! Next we start portioning it all out to begin bringing to families for the new month!
Escuelita – Kids Classes
If it all goes as planned, this week will be our last full week with these kids. It’s bittersweet. It’s been a challenge for sure, but also a sweet time together. When they go back to school we will go back to after-school and weekend support for families. We’re going to see what it looks like the needs are when school begins to decide our new schedule.
Hoodies
All families are in need in our group, but some are much more in need than others. One of our group here noticed these two brothers and was prompted by the Lord to do something special for them. First was new shoes for them, which were their first pair of new shoes ever! Then came in the mail these hoodies and hats! Something needed, and also special for them! It’s just the three of them, and their mom has had a hard time providing for them alone. But God sees. And when we listen, we get to be involved in sharing His love and provision.
House build
Look at the foam! All the structure is ready now and next week we will pour the roof! Rain can begin in September so it’ll be good to get this project closed in and ready to move to the inside before it rains. We’re also praying for any other roofs the Lord wants us to fix before the rains come! Please pray with us for discernment and provision for this!
