This week in Mexico 8-6-22

Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.

Update on Jaqui

While we wait for the full results on how aggressive her cancer is, I have an amazing praise to share with you! (You can see our first prayer request, and last week’s update)

When she first got the cancer diagnosis, the doctors told her to prepare for the surgery to cost at least $5,000 USD, because she would need to have a private doctor do the surgery. Waiting for the (almost) free general hospital to schedule her surgery could take a year, and she can’t wait that long! And so we’ve been praying for healing and for provision for her treatment. I love seeing how God provides, and He has!

It’s election season here. And both parties have people knocking on doors encouraging a vote for their side. The person who showed up at Miguel and Jaqui’s door just happens to be friends with the director of the big general hospital in Tijuana. The general hospitals here are government-run and are low-cost. He made a call, and they made it happen— she is scheduled for surgery on the 17th of this month— in 11 days! More good news is that it will be a partial hysterectomy (she’ll keep her ovaries and part of her uterus!), and then they’ll plan for chemo/radiation.

She has a pre-op appt for tests on the 15 and then the surgery on the 17. We continue to pray for healing, for peace and for full provision for their family. We are praying that her mom will be able to travel here from Mexico City to be with her and their kids. We pray that she’ll experience the tangible Presence of God with her through this and the peace that only He can give. We are also praying for Jaqui and Miguel’s kids, Mia and Alan. They haven’t been told much yet about what their mom is going through, but they know she’s going to the doctors a lot, and they know there is a lot of stress about it in the home. Thank you for praying with us! ♥

Summer break with our Escuelita

Our kids are out of school and so we are having a fun, relaxed time with them! For the first time in two years! Our kids have been through a lot and are really enjoying the break. Of course there is already talk of back-to-school needs with uniforms and supplies, but that’s the concern of the adults. The kids can just enjoy the time off.

Here are some pics from our week with the kids!

Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together!
