This week in Mexico 8-7-26
Here’s a glimpse of our week of outreaches in Mexico.
Quick links to the other parts this week:
Thank you so much for your patience while I got this update up! We’ve had intermittent power outages for several weeks. And because it didn’t affect the whole area, the power company was in no rush to come check. When they eventually sent someone out, this is what he found! He said it’s a miracle it didn’t start a fire:

Someone had connected their own wires to tap into the electrical supply, causing it to overheat and eventually burn out! But he got it fixed and our power is back!
Thank you so much for keeping us covered in prayer! It’s so needed and so appreciated! ♥
Groceries to families in need
As we were distributing groceries, the moms showed us the school supplies lists. It seems to grow each year in what the kids are required to supply.
They said they’ve been praying that we’ll have supplies to hand out, and we said we are praying to be able to help too!

As always, we bring snacks for the kids!

The families here work in the fields, and they showed us the current harvest of zucchini and green bean plants.
House Project – Menita
Our work with this very sweet grandma continues! Below is the grate for the drain at the street. The paint has been curing and is ready to install. (You can see more on this project here, and our last update with her new bathroom here.) Next update, we’ll have the inside of her bathroom to show you. She’ll have a bathroom with running water for the first time! And she won’t have to leave the house to get to it! We are so grateful!

Next up was getting the holes dug for the railing posts!
This was a hot, rough time for the guys, digging the holes for the railing posts! They took a long time, and the ground is so hard that we needed the jackhammer the whole time. But it’s looking so good! They got the holes dug deep enough, while Aidan cut the posts to the right height for the very petite Menita. And then we cemented them into the ground, praying that her grandkids don’t bump them as they set!

Our kids group – escuelita
Even though we have three more weeks of summer, all the school prep has begun. Some of our older kids already have orientation classes each day at their new schools, and all of the kids have received their school supply lists. So we’ll be going over those this week to see what they need!
Along with our regular fun of Bible Stories, games, coloring, and just running around being kids, we brought water balloons! It’s been very warm and very humid here, so this was a special treat for the kids!

Water balloons!

Soccer!
Coloring!
The kids love to draw and color in the shade at the park!

The kids play while the moms and grandmas cool off in the shade!

God is doing amazing things here, and I’m so grateful for your prayers and support that make it possible. Thank you so much for praying with us for those we serve together! ♥
