His Mercies Are New Every Morning

Published: March 18, 2022
Q

Recently I re-dedicated myself to the Lord. I grew so weary and heartbroken because of my addiction to a particular sin. One moment, I decided I had enough and got rid of every enabling piece of my addiction, and prayed and fasted for the Lord to deliver me from this addiction once and for all. Two days later, I found myself repeating the same dreaded sin. My question is, how long will it take for the Lord to deliver me? Will it take very long, or could it just miraculously happen overnight? Is there any way of telling at all?

Unbelievers And Miracles

Q

I just have a quick question for you. When the subject of miracles is brought up when talking to atheists what is the best way to handle this? Are there any good points to state or any good studies to support miracles? What do you normally say?

Will I Be Forgiven?

Published: March 17, 2022
Q

I am troubled and need advice. I am 78 years old. I want to go to heaven when I die but due to my past, I am not sure this will happen. I have always believed that God and Jesus were real but during my life I was a terrible sinner. I committed adultery many times, stole, cursed, and lied all the time. I have asked Jesus to forgive me and let me be born again so that I might be allowed to enter heaven when I die. I pray every day confessing my sins, I ask that my family be protected. What else must I do to become a child of God? I know that God and Jesus exist but I also know what I have done. I don’t know if I will be forgiven of my sins and enter heaven when the time comes to be judged. Please give me your thoughts and advice. I need help.

Do We Need A New Covenant?

Published: March 17, 2022
Q

Since my husband broke our marriage covenant when he committed adultery, does this mean that we are no longer married before God? Since adultery is biblical grounds for divorce, does that mean our covenant remains broken until we create a new covenant? Or is the fact that we are reconciling renew the covenant?

Why The Mystery? Follow Up

Q

Re: Why The Mystery?. Concerning Israel’s acceptance of the Messiah, I’m trying to understand what their acceptance really means. My initial thought was that if they hadn’t killed Him, then that would have been their acceptance of Jesus as the Messiah. But after reading the Q&A, Why the Mystery, it reminded me that He had to die, to fulfill the Scriptures. In it, you said, “Had they accepted the Lord’s death as the final sacrifice for their sins there would have been no Church” So, what would have constituted their acceptance?

Why The Mystery?

Q

As important as The Church/Body of Christ is, it seems puzzling to me why Jesus left talking about “this mystery” almost entirely up to Paul, with him having to convince the other apostles of this teaching given him by The Lord Jesus Himself.

Saved Out Of Laodicea?

Published: March 16, 2022
Q

Revelation 3:21 says to him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me on my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Does this mean that there will be some that will go in the rapture out of the Laodicean church? I have mostly thought that none of the apostate church would receive his request, to hear his voice and open the door. Every other church was given the option to overcome.

Can Satan Make God Do Anything?

Q

Can Satan do anything that God does not permit, (example, Satan asking God to remove the hedge he had around Job, and God limiting Satan’s actions against Job)?

On a Day Unknown

Q

I read your article where you explain how Matthew 24:36-50 is not about the rapture, and I have to say that what you wrote makes absolute sense. I have a question about Matt. 24:36, 42, 44, 50 and Matt. 25:13. They clearly state that the day and the hour of the 2nd coming are not known. But the length of the Great Tribulation will be known and then the Lord will return. You mention a period of time between the end of the tribulation and the 2nd coming of Christ. Is this spoken or taught in other parts of the Bible? Or is it just a conclusion you reached by analyzing the scriptures which say that nobody knows the day or the hour?

OSAS And Sexual Sin

Published: March 15, 2022
Q

I know you’re a firm believer in OSAS. I had an uncle who preached the gospel in his church, led many to God over the years, had a great testimony in the church and community. Somewhere along the way, he fell into a grievous sexual sin. He got found out, left the church, walked away from God. He made fun of those who continued to follow God. Are you telling me that he was saved and when he died he went to heaven?
